We successfully completed 6-week beginner’s course in Malinke/Bambara is designed to introduce learners to the foundational elements of these two closely related West African languages. The course covered essential topics like greetings, numbers, family, food, and directions, while gradually building up practical conversational skills. Thank you to EarthBeat Music and all the participants who made this course into a success.
Self-Defense
Children and Youth
Self-defense for the youth at Malta Community Center in fall 2024. Participants successfully completed 8 weeks of Self-defense course and learned various techniques to detect and protect themselves against any threat.
Adults
In Honor of Women’s History Month, Thecision Span embarked on a collaboration with The City of Albany Recreation Department, aiming to provide innovative opportunities for women in the community. Together, we are fostering a supportive environment where individuals can explore aspirations and creative endeavors through self-defense. Empowering through confidence and growth-mindset is at the core of this partnership.
Drum-Movement-Song-Workshops
A snapshot during our second session of Beginner West African Drum and Dance plus song in collaboration with Saratoga Public Library 08/08/2024.
In partnering with EarthBeat Music sharing Drum-Movement-Song Workshops at Harmony Hill School in the Cohoes School District for the PreK through 5th grade Field Day! I lead an energizing dance steps with all of the kids! A big thank you to all the teachers, administrators, and staff who facilitated this beautiful Field Day.
Abdul is engaging with elementary school children by teaching steps of African dance to prepare them for a final presentation.
